Does it sometimes feel as though you can read people’s minds?

Perhaps your friends often comment on your natural sixth sense and spectacular observation skills.

I’m not saying that you should go out and buy a bunch of lottery tickets.

But if you regularly make correct decisions based on gut feelings alone, chances are you’re highly intuitive.

And it’s this gift that gives you a serious edge.

Want to learn more? Here are 8 things naturally intuitive people can sense about others.

Let’s get started!

1) You easily pick up on other people’s emotions

You don’t just identify emotions, you feel them too.

That’s right. You’re an empath

Or at the very least, you’re deeply empathetic

So not only can you sense people’s woes, you can draw on past experiences to put yourself in their shoes.

But this ability to empathize goes beyond mere observation.

You’re a deep thinker with profound emotional intelligence. And you have a good grasp of your own emotions.

Because of this, you can easily pinpoint others’ underlying emotional state on instincts alone. No words or actions are needed.

Ultimately, you understand what makes people tick

And that lets you build strong connections with those around you, effortlessly.

It’s also why people are inherently drawn to you. Your friends will appreciate your ability to sit patiently and absorb their rants. They’ll see that you just “get it”.

2) You notice subtle social cues before anyone else

Do you dominate on poker night? It’s almost like you’re clairvoyant, right?

Maybe it’s a flick of their hair, a scratch of their nose, or a visceral gulp as you glance over at their cards. Whatever it is, your instincts tell you something’s up.

Well, that’s your intuition kicking in.

Like emotions, you can spot people’s body language and tells without even trying – it’s reflexive.

And by observing and interpreting those subtle social cues, you’re able to uncover what people really think – even if it’s something they’re trying hard to hide or suppress.

3) You’re a human lie detector

Do you ever just have a gut feeling about someone? We’ve all been there.

You’re buying a car and the salesman says something that sounds too good to be true.

Well, it turns out that the sneaking suspicion you harbored was right on the money. They were lying to you.

And by trusting your internal truth barometer, you were able to deduce that they weren’t being authentic or sincere.

A skill that has helped you dodge plenty of bullets and perilous scams in the past.

It’s like your superpower!

4) You’re all about “the vibes”

Even if you don’t believe in the auras, spirituality, or the supernatural, there’s no denying that sometimes, you simply get a vibe off someone.

A vibe can be defined as an atmosphere or emotional state of an individual or place.

It could be positive, negative, or even neutral.

Either way, you can detect a shift in a person’s energy in the blink of an eye.

And it’s this natural ability that helps you sense people’s hidden intentions. Not to mention, discern whether they’re trustworthy or not.

5) You instantly know whether you’ll “click” with someone (or not)

Of course, intuiting someone’s true nature doesn’t have to be all doom and gloom.

When it comes to platonic, professional, and romantic relationships, you have a knack for determining whether you’re compatible or not.

It doesn’t mean the other person is necessarily good or bad. Just that you’ll get on and make an excellent team.

This is a great skill to hone in both everyday and business activities – or the next time you decide to swipe right on that dating app.

And if you haven’t caught on by now, you should listen to your gut. It rarely steers you wrong.

Speaking of which…

6) You have a feel for people’s boundaries

Are you good at judging when it’s better to leave someone be?

Maybe you work in the service or care industry where customer satisfaction and having a diplomatic mindset are crucial.

Especially when it’s the difference between a volatile situation getting out of hand or being diffused calmly.

Your sixth sense and a keen eye for tonal changes give you an advantage during a crisis.

Not only can you quickly determine someone’s triggers. But you can use this knowledge to avoid confrontation in the first place by not pushing people’s boundaries.

If only everyone had this ability.

7) You’re quick to grasp the unspoken needs of others

Not everyone has the words to express their wants, fears, or needs.

Take babies or animals, for example.

Hell, even some of your peers struggle to voice their concerns or even understand what it is that they want.

But that’s where your unyielding perception comes in handy.

You have a way to intuit someone’s wishes before they know it themselves. And that resonates with the people you know and meet on life’s journey.

It’s also handy when Christmas time comes!

8) You have an inkling about people’s hidden potential

Call it a hunch, instinct, or subconscious experience. But you can sense someone’s potential – even if it’s not realized yet.

And this goes for opportunities too.

The US Navy refers to it as “Spidey Sense”.

But in psychology, this is called empathic accuracy or inference. A term coined by psychologists William Ickes and William Tooke.

And research shows that intuition, or “gut feel”, can play a major part in cognitive decision-making.

But don’t just take my word for it.

American psychologist, Joyce Brothers, believed that “hunches are usually based on facts filed away just below the conscious level”

Meanwhile, Steve Jobs noted in his biography that intuition was “more powerful than intellect”

The former Apple CEO was a massive advocate for listening to your inner voice. As were Albert Einstein, Bill Gates, Oprah Winfrey, and a slew of other successful individuals.

So if you believe in the power of intuition, you’re in good company.
