By using The Expert Editor’s website (viewing information or ordering a service), you agree to abide by these terms and conditions. These terms, together with our Privacy Policy, govern the relationship between clients and this website.

Definition of Services
Our editing services involve eliminating grammar, spelling, and punctuation mistakes, improving language and sentence structure, and ensuring arguments are presented in a clear fashion. Editing does not include content development (any writing apart from ensuring consistent structure), rewriting, or ghost-writing.
Our proofreading services involve eliminating grammar, spelling, and punctuation mistakes, and ensuring consistency in language and style.
Confidentiality, Copyright and Protection of Intellectual Property
The Expert Editor protects your copyright, and our clients retain sole copyright, ownership, and control over all materials and documents submitted to us. We will not provide a third party access to your work under any circumstances. All copies of the client’s work are removed from our system within 30 days of job completion. We have developed a set of confidentiality procedures to ensure client confidentiality is respected at all times.
Plagiarism policy
The Expert Editor in no way condones breaches of copyright or plagiarism, and has no responsibility for detecting or reporting plagiarised material.
Payment Policy
PayPal, card payment (processed securely by Stripe), and direct deposit are acceptable methods of payment. All prices quoted on the website are in Australian dollars and are based on the word count of the document you submit for editing or proofreading.
Cancellation Policy
Once payment has been received by The Expert Editor, you are confirming that work is to commence. If you wish to cancel the services you have ordered, please contact us immediately. We require a minimum of 24 hours’ notice of any cancellation, confirmed in writing.
Refunds
Once an editor begins work, no refund will be provided. However, any payment made in respect of the provision of unused services will be refunded in full.
Limitation of liability
The Expert Editor strives to provide the highest quality editing and proofreading services to its customers, and has developed quality assurance procedures to this end. However, we do not warrant that the end document will be accurate, complete, reliable, current, or error-free.
Our editors provide advice on changes which you may accept, reject, or further amend. The content of any finished work is therefore entirely the responsibility of the author.
The Expert Editor and its contractors are not liable for any incidental, indirect, consequential, or other damages whatsoever as a result of our editing or proofreading services. In no event will the company’s liability extend beyond the purchase price of the service.
Complaints Process
If a client is not satisfied with the editing or proofreading provided by The Expert Editor, please contact us within 30 days of receipt with details of the complaint. We will confirm that we have received your complaint, then investigate and correspond with you to resolve any problems as soon as possible.
