Our editing team
The Expert Editor’s editing and proofreading is done by a team of professional human editors, selected through a rigorous recruitment process — quality editing requires an excellent editor. Every editor on our team has:
- High-level academic qualifications — a PhD or Master’s degree — and in many cases additional qualifications in professional editing.
- Substantial experience as a professional editor in academic, book, or business editing.
- An Australian base and native-English fluency.
- The flexibility to accommodate short turnarounds.
Our editors come from a range of backgrounds, including present and former academics from top Australian universities and book-publishing industry professionals. When you work with us, you’re matched with an editor whose background suits your document, and we’re happy to outline your editor’s professional background on request.
The team is led by our founder and chief editor, Brendan Brown, who oversees recruitment and the quality standards described on our Quality Assurance page.
