#2030: A Writing Competition Weekly Update

by admin | August 14, 2017, 5:42 am

The #2030 writing competition is off to a flying start, with 30 high quality entries already submitted. If you haven’t yet entered, have a look at the competition home page and get your ideas flowing!

We’re thrilled at Ideapod agreed to host the competition. Although it’s only a new social media platform, it’s generating a lot of buzz around the world, and we think it’s the perfect place to hold a competition such as this one. Our aim is to create a real community around our vision for the future and Ideapod allows this to happen.

Every week we will highlight some of the most popular entries. Here are a few that have caught our eye so far:

  • Graeme Richards talks about his ideal world in 2030. “By 2030 the globe will stop warming, the seas will stop rising, the polar caps and permafrost will stop melting and people will return to rural areas as land returns to being arable” – bit.ly/1oskhJX
  • Sam Guarino talks about compassion. “Some regard compassion as unproductive. I say it is the best chance we have” – bit.ly/1dofBOv
  • Ghaith Fliefel wants to redesign our future based on education. “Mastering #research as an intellectual tool in the #future will definitely create new possibilities to students, schools and #communities which will ultimately reflect positively on most fields directly and indirectly” – bit.ly/1kHioat
  • Taylah Schrader wants 2030 to be an era of sustainability. “If we are to live peacefully and sustainably in 2030, a compromise from all sides MUST be reached and, more importantly, enforced by those with the power to do something” – bit.ly/1dclJyA

We still have seven weeks before the competition closes, so spread the word to your friends and let them know about the competition. Let’s make this the most interactive writing competition on the planet! The competition has made a great start and we can’t wait to read more quality ideas about the future over the coming weeks.
